About Us...

Our Vision

We understand the every day struggles with our current economy and our costs of living.  These struggles are what made us who we are today.  We take great pride in seeing the bigger picture.  Every job isn't just about making money, it's about helping people make the right decisions to spend theirs wisely. There's nothing more satisfying than shaking a happy customer's hand at the end of the day.  That alone is what fuels our drive to be successful.

Modern Home Works is a small owner operated business based out of Homer Glen, IL.  We service the entire Chicago-land area and surrounding suburbs.  Specializing in wood and glass projects including hardwood flooring, windows, shower doors, mirrors, millwork and doors, no job is too big or small for us.  We take great pride in transforming homes into more updated and energy efficient living conditions at a fraction of the cost of many other companies.  We offer free estimates as well as our honest opinions to make your experience with us as easy and pleasant as possible.

Common problems in our homes today include worn out carpet, foggy windows, rotten doors, hardware not operating properly, and outdated styles of just about everything.  Having big name companies take care of these small problems can turn into a major expense.  At Modern Home Works, we not only try to save you a significant amount of money, but pay much more attention to our customer's personal needs.  With over 15 years of experience, we have seen and heard many horror stories about home improvement projects.  It is our pleasure to help point you in the right direction, as well as give you fair and honest pricing, to avoid becoming another one of these stories.

Thank you for visiting our site and feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns you may be having with your home improvement projects.

How it all began

While washing dogs at my mother's grooming salon, a man walked in from the flooring place next door.  His guys called in sick on him and he was desperate for help.  He asked if I'd be willing to give him a hand for the day tearing out carpet.  Needless to say, the rest is history and I never washed another dog again!         Dave Slepawic

What lies ahead

There are many uncertainties in this world.  The only thing we can be sure of is that the times will constantly change. The great new thing today will one day become outdated just like everything else.  I never know who I'll meet next or what type of job is calling in, but that's exactly why I love what I do.        Dave Slepawic
